2011 North Louisiana Travel Outlook Conference to be held Thursday, August 11

SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, LA – The 2011 North Louisiana Travel Outlook Conference, an annual event hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, will be held 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursday, August 11 at LakeHouse at Villaggio in Bossier City. Conference registration is now open. The $35 registration fee includes breakfast and lunch. Conference registration is open to the public, with hospitality and tourism industry professionals especially encouraged to attend.

This year’s keynote speaker is Lieutenant General Russel L. Honoré, who led Task Force Katrina in the aftermath of the devastating hurricanes that struck the Gulf Coast in the summer of 2005 and has been named Chairman of the Louisiana Bicentennial Celebration. Special guest Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne will present an opening address to the conference at 8:30 a.m. Additional guest speakers include Bob Gorman (I-49), Wade Duty (Louisiana Casino Association), Bill Cooksey (Shreveport Airport Authority), Sarie Joubert (Chesapeake Energy) and Arlena Acree (Shreveport-Bossier Film Office).

The purpose of this conference is to report national and local trends in tourism and to provide insight to help Shreveport-Bossier’s tourism partners grow their businesses.
