Shreveport, LA—Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center has developed programming and activities related to the Gulf oil spill which will run daily for the remainder of the summer. In addition to daily programming, the SWEPCO Demonstration Theater projection screen displays a current map of the oil spill, ongoing interviews from PBS’s “The State We’re In,” live feed of the cap and photos of the affected areas, vegetation and animals being affected by the oil.

Other activities and programming available for visitors include:
• Hay & Oil Cleanup demonstration. Visitors will find out why they are using human hair in the booms.
• Cleaning oil off of feathers using Dawn dish soap
• Examining tar balls
