Funny Bone Comedy Club - June Events

LEROY "HYPNOBRO" WILLIAMS JUNE 3, 4 & 7

He’s appeared on BET'S Comic View numerous times and has opened for such notable acts as Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer and D.C. Curry. With a mixture of urban contemporary observational comedy, hip-hop, hypnotic improvisation and undeniable stage presence, HypnoBro is guaranteed to bring da laffs. Hypnosis has just added a new flavor. So let's all get HypBrotized.

MICHAEL COLYAR JUNE 5 & 6

Colyar broke from the mold set by many African-American comedians by delving into routines neither vulgar, nor profane, nor directed exclusively to a black audience and he appeals to all ages, ethnicities, and personal backgrounds. Colyar won the standup competition on Star Search in 1990 and donated half his winnings to Los Angeles-area charities. He was the host and emcee of his own cable talk show, BET Live from L.A. in 1999.

Some of Colyar’s film credits include "Hollywood Shuffle," "Johnny Be Good," "House Party 3," "What's Love Got to Do With It?," and "Poetic Justice," the urban drama "The Beat," a small supporting roles in the hit Eddie Murphy farce "Norbit," and "The Longshots," opposite Ice Cube and Keke Palmer.

PAUL HOOPER JUNE 10-14

Name one comic who can hit the stage like an atom bomb and keep the audience exploding with laughter even after he’s gone...that’s right, it’s Paul Hooper. Known for kicking the feet out from underneath conservative humor and finding the funny side to natural disaster, this young man is on the fast track to stardom. Loved by crowds and comics nationwide, he steamrolls non-stop thru a set and seldom gives the audience time to breathe. Paul Hooper has performed for The Funny Bone Comedy Clubs, The Comedy Zone Comedy Clubs, The Punchline in Atlanta, Gotham in NYC, and Charlie Good Nights in Raleigh, NC just to name a few. But don’t just take our word…go see him for yourself.

RICK GUTIERREZ JUNE 17-21

Latino comedian Rick Gutierrez has been cracking up audiences across the country with his throwback takes on traditional family values and outlooks on marriage for years, but it’s about time some higher ups in Hollywood finally got wind of his comedic talents. Gutierrez is slated to star in an HBO comedy series based on his life and the experiences he talks about in his standup act (so make sure to catch him live if you want a head start on the series). Rick’s other television credits include NBC's Friday Night Videos, BET Comic View and Showtime's Latino Laugh Festival.

DUSTIN "SCREECH" DIAMOND JUNE 21-28

Dustin Diamond is an American actor, musician, and stand-up comedian best known for his role as Samuel "Screech" Powers on the television show "Saved by the Bell." After "Saved By The Bell" ended, Diamond was featured on a number of game and reality shows featuring celebrities including "The Weakest Link," "Celebrity Boxing 2," and professional wrestling matches. Diamond has also made several cameo appearances in films including an appearance in "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star," and recently in "Celebrity Fit Club." Diamond has performed stand-up comedy for many years. His comic style is similar to that of Bob Saget, referencing his sitcom years as well as using very blue humor in his stage act.

JON "THE HEMI GUY" REEP - JULY 9-11

Special Engagement Show Does this guy look familiar? Maybe you've seen him on CBS's Star Search or NBC's Late Friday. Maybe you saw him during the super bowl in a Sierra Mist commercial, or as "Raymus," the pot smoking farmer in "Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay". If not then you probably know him as the Hemi guy.

Jon is known to millions as the lovable redheaded redneck in the Dodge Ram commercials who leans out of a beat-up car and utters the now famous line: "That thing gotta Hemi?" But before that he was already one of the funniest comics in America, selling out clubs and getting standing ovations at college after college across the country. His show is supersonic energy filled with non-stop characters, dead-on impressions, super clever writing, and, of course, the one talent that separates Jon from all other comedians in the world: He's the best redneck dancer since Elvis. Come out and see one of the country's really great comedians, the Hip Hick, the Southern Dance Machine, "The Hemi Guy."

Aw, this was a really quality post. In theory I'd like to write like this too - taking time and real effort to make a good article... but what can I say... I procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done.

Great post! I am just starting out in community management/marketing media and trying to learn how to do it well - resources like this article are incredibly helpful. As our company is based in the US, it?s all a bit new to us. The example above is something that I worry about as well, how to show your own genuine enthusiasm and share the fact that your product is useful in that case.
