Touring local art gallery refreshing to the soul

The Gallery of Fine Art Center, LLC is the creation of Dr. Robert R. Robinson and Jennifer Kelly Robison of Robison Photography Studio. Opening in Bossier City at Airline Plaza in May 2009, the Gallery of Fine Art Center is dedicated to providing the highest standard of artwork to the Ark-La-Tex.

I have never been to an art gallery. As I walked and browsed through all the different artwork, I was pleasantly surprised to experience how relaxing it was looking at artwork. The one painting that stuck out the most to me was titled “Disruptive” painted in 3D by local artist Byron May. The painting required you to put on glasses that made the exuberant and vibrant colors jump out at you. I moved throughout the gallery looking at all his 3D paintings and the colors and patterns seemed unreal.

The gallery showcases six exhibitions a year. Each exhibition last for two months. For each show there is an artist reception, which is open to the public. The artist comes to talk about his/her work and answer questions. Upcoming is “Art Chaud”, July 14 and July 21 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be a open bar and H’orderves will be served.

If you have never been to this art gallery, I would recommend that you visit the Gallery of Fine Art Center simply because the artwork is refreshing to the soul. I chose to visit this attraction because I wanted to experience new things. The gallery is free to the public. The hours of operation are Tuesday-Friday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and by appointment. For more information feel free to call them at 318-741-9192 or visit them at www.GFACLA.com.
