The Rockslide Brownie from Ferrier's Rollin' in the Dough in Shreveport is a dieter's worst nightmare.
Located just off of East King's Highway at 1333 Captain Shreve Drive in Shreveport, Ferrier's Rollin' in the Dough is a small, locally-owned and operated neighborhood restaurant and bakery. It's the kind of place where the customers are on a first-name basis with the staff, where the owner takes your order, and the walls are decorated with signs telling customers to be patient. "Yield to great food, not fast food," one such sign reads. "Please be patient while we prepare your food to order."
Rollin' in the Dough is renowned among locals for their burgers, which are served on fresh-baked buns, as well as their salads, sandwiches, and a popular catfish dinner. Prices mostly reside in the $7-$13 range, though there's a children's menu with prices from $3.99-$4.99.
When I say "fresh-baked buns," it may not really convey the freshness of the buns at Rollin' in the Dough. These buns just came out of the oven, and you can taste the difference. It's the only burger in town, in my personal opinion, on which the bun is the main ingredient. Replace these buns with ordinary buns, and you've got a slightly above average burger. But with these buns attached, it's slap-your-mama-good. I want to write love poems to these buns. I want to have a dozen roses delivered to Rollin' in the Dough, and just have the card read "To: The Buns." Sigh.
Save room for dessert, especially the popular Casino Cakes and Rockslide Brownies, the latter of which is incredibly photogenic (see above). In fact, to really appreciate this brownie, you're going to need to see it in high-def.
