Don't Forget the Kids: 'Home Alone' at The Robinson Film Center

Thursday, 23 December, 2010 8:04 by Chris Jay

Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as movie history's most lovable home invaders in Home Alone, now playing at The Robinson Film Center.

Every year when Christmas rolls around, the good folks over at The Robinson Film Center in downtown Shreveport pick a holiday classic - something most of us have seen a million times on cable - and find a way to make it a special theatrical experience.  Last year, a sold-out crowd donned their ugliest Christmas sweaters and drank eggnog while watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.  This year's more family-friendly selection is Home Alone, which the independent film center will screen daily at 3:00 p.m. from December 23-26.  In addition to seeing this popular favorite on the big screen, they're running a contest over on their facebook page encouraging fans of the film to submit their best "Home Alone face" photo - winners will receive four free tickets to the film and (if I'm not mistaken, though I can't find this on the website), all of the submissions will run on the big screen during the pre-show before the Home Alone screenings.  So load up the car and take the whole gang.  Or, if you need a ride, maybe you could catch a ride with Gus Polinksi, Polka King of the Midwest - he's headed toward Sheboygan!

For more information, contact The Robinson Film Center box office at (318) 459-4122.
