Shreveport-Bossier welcomes the Aggies and Bulldogs to the 2009 AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl

Shreveport-Bossier, La. – Shreveport-Bossier: Louisiana’s Other Side gears up to welcome Texas A&M Aggies and Georgia Bulldogs to the 2009 AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl, to be held 4 p.m., Dec. 28 in the Independence Stadium.
 
Texas and Georgia fans will love what others love about the area. From the glittering excitement of the riverboat casinos, the wonderful array of festivals, the mouth watering local cuisine, fantastic shopping and numerous outdoor activities, to the museums and attractions - this area promises not only an exciting football match-up, but a great experience for the entire family.
While here check out the Louisiana Boardwalk, the state’s largest outlet/shopping/dining entertainment complex on the banks of the Red River. The kids will love Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center with the world’s only interactive, laser planetarium. When it’s time to chow down, stop in one of the local eateries like Monjuni’s Italian Restaurant, Fertitta’s Delicatessen or the Blind Tiger.
 
To keep the spirit of having a good time with family and friends in Shreveport-Bossier, AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl will host a slew of events that will get game goers pumped up. The following events are open to the public:
• Minuteman Coaches Luncheon will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 26 at Convention Center, 400 Caddo Street, Shreveport. Admission is $30.
• The FCA Breakfast will be held 7:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 27 at Bossier Civic Center, 620 Benton Road, Bossier City. Admission is $5.
• Following the breakfast the Pep Rally and Battle of the Bands will definitely allow the Aggies and the Bulldogs to show fans what they’re made of as they encourage crowd participation and team spirit. This event will be held 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27 at Centurytel Center, 2000 Centuryel Center Dr., Bossier City. It is free to the public.
• The post game concert will be held Monday, Dec. 28, at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum, 3701 Hudson Avenue, Shreveport. This event will take place after the game featuring Kutless. Admission to this event is free with game ticket.
