Learn more about the life of Shreveporters in the 1830s-1860s during Pioneer Day, 10 a.m.-4p.m., Saturday at the LSU-Shreveport Pioneer Heritage Center, 1 University Place, Shreveport.
During this annual event, the Pioneer Heritage Center hosts an open house of the museum and also showcases local folk-life demonstrators, living historians, musicians and much more. The tour includes an original dogtrot house and other living and working quarters, as well as authentic period furniture and materials.
