While on vacation, my son, husband and I visited the Boardwalk and we had a blast. The Boardwalk was a very serene and peaceful place to have a family outing. Living in California and going to our Universal Boardwalk is a hassle because you can hardly find a place to park as well as the huge crowds that one would have to deal with. The thing that I like about the Boardwark are the various shops and eateries. There is a little bit of something for everyone to enjoy. The most memorable moment at the Boardwalk was eating one of those delicious Caramel Candy Apples. To this day, I still dream of those candy apples. As a matter of fact, I will order a candy apple and have it sent to me here in California.
It was at the Boardwalk where I told Juan that we would be having an addition to our family. His reaction was TOTALLY different than what I had pictured in my mind. He was very happy and from that moment on, we stood by the water, dranked some Auntie Pretzel's Lemonade and pledged our love and dedication to one another forever more.

This is really just to inform you that my brother was a patient at LSU hospital in the cancer ward.  We were treated with such respect and loving care.  I have been to many hospitals and I can honestly say that this hospital was the best I ever stayed in.  The food in the hospital was great.  I had no complaints whatsoever.  They made us feel like family during a devastating time in our lives. I enjoyed the shopping there.  The mall and other places.

My family and I finally got to visit the much talked about BoardWalk.  It was indeed what everyone said.  My son and daughter thouroughly enjoyed our evening, as did I.  We shopped, played in the arcade shop, and ate all in one spot.  All in all, I can say that we took care of business and purchased many needed items at a great price and enjoyed a little leisure as a family in one location and I really enjoyed that.  I wish we had a place like that where I'm from or maybe a little closer to where I live.  We drove an 1hour and a half, but it was well worth the drive.  I plan to come back when I can spend a day there, hopefully bringing more of the family and friend with me so that we can all enjoy sometime quality time together and purchase items that we need at the same time.  Its perfect.  Ladies can shop, fellas can shop, kids can shop, and everybody can eat TOGETHER and still have fun!  I love the boardwalk.

I'm from a large Midwestern city, so being able to see the alligators at Gators and Friends was one of the coolest things I've ever done! It was just amazing and I hope I get the chance to come back again soon.

I enjoyed my last trip to Shreveport-Bossier City. I had not been into Louisiana in 13 years. I had a great time visiting the hardware store and the dog boutique and I enjoyed a great BBQ lunch at a quaint place across from the base. I so realized how I had missed Spanish moss in the trees. At the hardware store I found a souviner to take home with me-a smiling gator head. I mentioned to the clerk that I had not been in Louisiana in 13 years; she replied to me "well don't take so long next time".

I was only able to visit once for a short time on a business trip, but the Boardwalk was a big treat for me.  It helped that it was a perfect day out - people were so happy and friendly.  There were so many interesting and different things to shop for and the food was terrific.

A couple of years ago, I was spending a long weekend in Louisiana and came back via Shreveport to catch a baseball game.  It was an afternoon game scheduled for Father's Day but the weather would not cooperate.  It rained heavily all morning and all the way up till game time.  I could see the parking lot was almost empty, so obviously everyone figured it was impossible to play that day, even though the game had not been cancelled.  I looked inside the team office and saw some players in uniform milling around.  According to the schedule, this was the last game of the season to be played between the Shreveport Sports and the St. Joseph Blacksnakes, so I figured the teams would stick around as long as possible because the game could not be made up.  Since I was staying at the Days Inn near Fairgrounds Field, I could keep tabs on the situation.  Eventually, the weather improved and the game started more than two hours late.  But it appeared that the fans had given up on any game being played that day and went to Plan B for Father's Day.  As a result, the crowd was so sparse, I could literally count the fans in the stands.  I came up with 50 people.  First time I've ever seen a professional baseball game with more people on the field and in the dugouts than in the stands, which made it a piece of cake for me to get a foul ball.  I've been to about 150 different ballparks; some were memorable and some were not.  But my experience at Fairgrounds Field in Shreveport was truly one of a kind.

It has been years since I've been to the Boardwalk, but I always loved it.  It's such a beautiful, serene place with some of the best food I've ever had.  The people, though, are what really make it special.  I guess I'll have to get back there real soon.

Long before Texas had legalized horse racing we would plan getaways from Dallas to Bossier City.  One time my Aunt Jane, our friends Everett and Josie and I decided to make the day trip.  Everett was driving and "the ladies" were gabbing and scoping out our picks.  After a few hours we saw the sign WELCOME TO ARKANSAS and we realized we took the wrong turn.  Everett put pedal to the metal and we headed in the correct direction.  When we pulled into Louisiana Downs with just minutes to spare (before the first race) Everett jumped out ready to sprint, accidentally locking the keys in the car with the engine running.  Luckily parking lot crew members came to our rescue and we made it in time to bet and win the daily double.  We have often laughed at our most memorable trip across the state line to Louisiana.

Maybe there needs to be a grandchild involved to really appreciate this experience.  My only grandson lives in Shreveport, a mere three hours from Dallas so "Grammy" and "Grampy" are always looking for places to go and things to do in the area. The State Fair in Shreveport is lots of fun for all ages.  Want to feed carrots to a giraffe up close and personal?  Want to watch a great juggling act for free?  Want to walk around surrounded by smiling people and look at fun games and the lights on the rides?  Then come to the State Fair in Shreveport-Bosier.

Not being much of a gambler, on a very tight budget, I go to the "Boats" for an hour or so of fun very seldom.  However, when my son and daughter-in-law announced the upcoming birth of my first grandchild, I decided that I had a reason to go gambling.  I announced that I was going to "win the baby bed"!  And, thanks to a very friendly quarter slot machine, I did.  The look on my daughter-in-law's face when I handed her $500.00 was priceless.  My son is now calling me the "slot-machine-queen".  Alas, the experience has not been repeated, but I still love to go the Casinos and at least listen to other folks winning.

I need to wear ear plugs, but I really enjoy the Mudbugs hockey games.  The food is great and the fans are outrageous.  It is a fun outing for the entire family.

Everyone who works in the facility is friendly and helpful.  It is always a pleasant evening when we get to go to the hockey game....except for the ear plugs, of course.

I had to wear earplugs, but the fun of watching the Mudbugs play hockey is great fun.  More fun than the Dallas Stars, in fact.

The arena is comfortable and the people who work there are always friendly and helpful.

It is a great event for the entire family.

My name is Ruth Burns and in 2005 I lost my only child, Ashley, after her spleen ruptured at Cheerleading practice and she died at the hospital. In 2003 my daughter,Ashley, and I visited her little 1/2 sister in Bossier City La.
We had so much fun from going to the water park, mini golfing, Go cart racing, and much more. The best times we had there was spending time with her baby sister. Her sister,Hailey, and I talk often and miss Ashley as well as each other terribly and we hope to ,eventually, see each other again. Her mom and Dad are not very active in her life and her nana is raising her now.I live in Massachusetts and , unfortunately, I do not have the funds to go see her.Since my daughters death I am now on Social Security due to severe PTSD and depression.I am not sure if I will win but I am happy to share my story, my daughter means the world to me although she is in heaven and I love her little sister and hope to be able to see her again she is only 7 years old.My daughter would be 17 year now, she died at age 14.

We went down to see George Clinton and had an absolute blast.  Nothing better than that concert in that venue.  Had a chance to do a bit of sight-seeing before we left and decided we needed to come back and spend a lot more time there.
